WEEK 3: DESIGN FOR ANIMATION (The 8 Stages in Movies)

For the homework I picked the movie The Kungfu Panda

  1. Hero: Po the clumsy Panda
  2. Mentor: Shifu the little Kungfu master
  3. The Sage: Oogway the one who knows the peace
  4. Rebel: Tai Lung the Villain
  5. Friends: The amazing 5 (tigress, Monkey, Mantis, Viper, Crane)
  6. Father: Mr. Ping The Chef

The Stages of the films are as follows:

  1. You: At the start, Surprisingly Po gets selected as a Dragon Warrior even though he is an employee in his dads Hotel.
  2. Need: To learn Kungfu from Scratch.
  3. Go: To impress other warriors.
  4. Search: His way to be capable of the name of dragon warrior.
  5. Find: Ways he can master the art of Kungfu.
  6. Take: Defeat the fated Villain.
  7. Return: Return as a Dragon Warrior.
Change: The Villain has tremendous Strength as he himself had a goal of becoming a dragon warrior.

Timeline:

Presumably, Po the Panda worked in his dad’s hotel until the day he got surprisingly got selected as the dragon warrior by making a dramatical entrance. Since then Po started Learning Kungfu from the scratch. It was difficult for him to learn the art as he was constantly humiliated by his skill in Kungfu.

The timeline becomes much shorter as he undergoes training which was needed the most to fight the fated Villain. Which later on in the movie he becomes capable of the title of The Dragon Warrior while earning the respect from each and every person in the movie.

Week 2: Design for Animation

Introduction:
Films and Television deeply affects the people in day today world. Its impact is directly proportional to the behavior of the human being. Not all of us are influenced by these concepts but it depends on the main focus of the person.
For example many children watches TV Shows so that they can escape the world and simply enjoy the cartoons, music, or many other things. Where as some children watch television so they can gain more information about their studies or understand their studies better.
Some of the children get easily influenced by these Television shows and start acting the same way the character or the hero of the show does, which in fact can cause a negative influence on the child.
Thus, children are influenced in a much more greater percentage by watching televisions and films.

Week 2: Nuke Development

The assignment for this week for vfx was to upload a video that would show how you view the city. Ever since in London, I have always loved the innumerable ways how the Sky is represented itself to us naturally. It is always a beauty to look a these beautiful skies, which catches my heart in awe.

WEEK 2: Modelling (LEGO MAN)

Say Hi to the new Manager at the UAL Lego Land!

In the Second week what we learned was the basics of Modelling in Maya.

The task was to build a model of a Lego person, where we came across the concept of Critical work as well as building a model as close and precise as possible to the reference.

This helped me to get a closer look at modeling tools in maya and its use in various ways to obtain a certain result. We were introduced to the brush tools as well as we started using the poly bevel tool which is used to smoothen the hard edges creating a cleaner look. The brush tool in specifically helped us to prepare a curved angular arm.

We also learned Texturing as well as adjusting the shadow of the character according to the image or the HDRI image to get the best Output. With the help of Arnold Standard Surface I have applied the texture of a suit to the model, while with the help of UV shell I was able to set the faces according to the model giving it the proper suit as well as the face it needed. Long with the same Arnold Shadow matte help in creating the show of the model which helped in the merging the background image of the Building to the 3d Model.

WEEK 1: MAYA MODELLING (Tesla)

In the first week of modelling in maya, the assignment assigned was to create and model the Tesla Cyber truck. It was a really good brush up for my basics in Maya as I have previously worked in this software for FX purposes. Maya really is easier for creating these models due to its wide spreaded tools.

The tools that I used for this assignment were mostly extrude tools, cut tools, multi-cut tools, add-edge tool, and many more.

I have also applied the Arnold texture, to the Cyber truck and the shadow matte to the ground. The render engine used in this scene was Arnold’s render. This is the final result.

WEEK 1: MODELLING (WINE BOTTLE AND GLASS)

The Modelling of the bottle of wine and Glass was quite simple and the basic of all. We started with and EP Curve tool along with the revolve tool which helped us to get the desired Model output.

Along with these extrude tool was also used a lot of creating a desired extended shape.

Additionally, we finished the modelling by taking out a desired render by using Arnold Textures which was used to get an opaque look that of a glass as well as its render system which gave us the best output.
